I was re-introduced to an Enema kit for the first time in my adult life a couple of weeks ago. I have not worked up the courage to use it yet and some of the reasons i give myself are, I eat healthy – largely, exercise fairly regularly and I believe my metabolism works just fine, better than it has in years actually. However, I know the benefits of doing a colon cleanse and so I keep the enema kit as a reminder to do so someday in the near future.

Interesting analogy but true, detoxification is a process we must all go through regularly to stay healthy or be healthier. This is not to downplay the effectiveness of our healthy lifestyles but rather its more like spring cleaning your body and soul every now and again because of the impact of the wear and tear of life.

Soul detox in my opinion is much more important than a body detox because our souls outlive our bodies so we are better off with cleaner, healthier souls than we are with clean, healthy bodies. Genesis 2:7 says “ And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” some other translations say “…and man became a living soul”.

Soul detox is similar to body detox, in that it involves consciously taking in stuff that will neutralize and flush out all the bad stuff that has accumulated in your body. In the case of our souls, we do this by filling our hearts and minds with the right words. The right words, God words, which will negate negative words spoken to us, negative experiences and thoughts forming in our minds. The right words also form a power reserve for us to combat any sudden challenges. I am not referring to inspirational words or words of encouragement. Those are good but the only word with power to change a living being is the word of God.

“Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17 Filling our hearts and minds with the word of God will provide the much needed soul cleanse and keep us untainted and undamaged by this world.

We cannot truly care for and love ourselves without taking care of our well being from the inside out.
