The main theme all through creation is one of love. God created this world and everything in it because He wanted us to be the object His love. When we sinned, He worked out a plan of redemption because He loved us. In the words of Jesus:
“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45)”
Notice it says His sun. He owns the world but He chooses to share this part of it with us and He blesses us with provision and patience independent of our choices.
It is difficult to ignore the increase in violence in general in our world. From shootings to caustic remarks on social media posts to domestic violence to back stabbing in the work place. It appears that as a specie we are working very hard to achieve our own extinction just because we refuse to accept that everyone is on a different journey and that journey may not match ours or our expectations.
In Romans 14 Paul talked about this:
“So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. (Romans 14: 12-13)”
All humans are different, from our genetic makeup to our emotional and physical attributes as such we all walk different paths, we all find our way at different times and we all struggle very differently. Bigotry is the biggest injustice against all mankind because it presupposes that you are somehow accountable for someone else’s actions or choices whereas we all need to give account for ourselves and ourselves alone.
Cut out the noise today. There is only one standard to aspire to and that standard is God. We should all aspire every day to move ever closer to divinity in thought, speech and deed. Ignore what the next guy is doing or not doing, saying, eating, dressing, working, believing etc. Walk your own path.
Live is an individual journey.
